[Typo3] mailing list vs forum

Hi everyone,

I was wondering why this information is part of a mailing list rather than just in an online forum? Personally I find it difficult to use and inconvenient to reply to. Is there a good way to use the list other than through an email client?

Forums such as actionscript.org seem so much easier to use and so I thought I must be missing something here in the way I use the mailing list. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
