[Typo3] Message board with separate database?

Hi,

I have a Typo3 site using HTTrack to generate static html,
since I want to keep the database on the inside. So far so
good. However, this means I won't be able to use database-driven
features such as message boards. Is there any way to make the
message board extension use a separate database that can be
placed away from the Typo3 db? Is there another solution to this?
