[Typo3] combining the features of two templates

Is it possible to combine the features of two templates.
I want the main navigation under the header and then each sub-menu in the 
left column.
And I want to have the Normal column and the Border column for content.

Is this possible using Typo3?
Im a newbie and not too much experience in Template building.
Any help appreciated.

Can you purchase ready made templates on the web for Typo3?
