Pherhaps something like

5 = TEXT
5 {
   data = leveltitle:-2, slide
}

will help ...


this will get the title from the parent page ... and if the parent page has none from their parent page
and so on till it finds a title ...

check google on "typo3 leveltitle" there are quite some examples ...
