[Typo3] Direct Mail sendmail limit is 50?

Is the limit 50 per try? That is, when I press the mailer engine, should 
I expect more than 50 messages will be sent at each press? My host 
assures me that the limit is not with them. It takes many presses to 
reach 6500.
