[Typo3] RTE Image - Setting Properties (ideally Click Enlarge)

I thought it might be possible to wrap/configure images in the RTE (to 
enable things like maxW or click to enlarge) by setting up some default 
TypoScript.  I've played with code but can't get anything to actually work. 
I've tried working with tt_content.image but maybe I need to be configuring 
the rte.  Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.  I'm thoroughly 
confused at this point.  I know there's a request to enhance the RTE to 
include this functionality by default.  Thanks!
