[Typo3] overlib extension bgcolor transparent

I use the overlib extension, (required by the jw_calendar extension) but 
there is a small issue here i cannot resolve. The bgcolor of the overlib is 
rendered transparent, allthough the plugin.tx_overlib.defaults values are 
unchanged. Any idea why this is? (
