[Typo3] semi transparent GMENU

Hi all,

has anybody ever tried to have semi transparent GMENUs and managed it? If
so, how?

At the moment I'm trying to have a semi transparent png as background and
put the Text on it, but all I get is a gray background like you usually
would get it viewing a semi transparent png in MSIE. I'm using Firefox and
have the "PNG alpha channel fix for IE5.5+" extension installed.

An important question also may be Is gd or IM capable of handling semi
transparent png files?
