[Typo3] no news_id given (?)

Good morning, list.

Hope you can help me with this one.
I'm struggling with a newer version of tt_news and is confronted by a
problem I don't know how to fix.

That's when I want to display single news, I only get the message "no
news_id given" on the webpage. How come?
Under "Other settings" in the News-plugin, I've located the page at which I
want to display the single news (PageId for single news display:)

The structure is as follows:
1. The first page, displaying the news as a "list". This works good. But not
when I actually want to read "more" about a single news.
2. I have created a separate page at which I want to display the news. I
don't have to create a plugin here too, do I?
3. I have a sysFolder in which I store all news. I locate this through
"Startingpoint:" under general Settings.

So the main problem is: how to display a single news? Why do I only get this
message "no news_id given"? I've been working with this for days now, but I
can't really find whats missing. Anyone have an idea?
I would be REALLY grateful for your help. This is driving me crazy.
