[Typo3] IE crashes on typo3 page - workaround needed

To answer my own question, A css validator might have helped me in this 
case :-)
The problem seemed to be located in the css, I narrowed it down and it 
stemmed from a div selector with a vertical-align attribute which is not 
  by the book.

Still absurd that IE crashes like that though ...
