[Typo3] recent updates list acting wierd..

I think I've solved that part now (it shows more dates at least :o) Thanks 
for helping me out...
but I've got a little add-on question: I would like to crop the page names 
in this menu (like this: crop = 9 | ...) 
but where/how do I do that?
