[Typo3] Integration of a webshop.

Hi!
I'm currently evaluating typo3 for my company and it looks very promising. 
Actually, there's only one thing I need to know before I give it a "go".
The thing is that we wan't our current webshop to be integrated with typo3. 
When I say integrated I mean single sign-on and registration of users.
I've been searching for documentation about how to syncronize users from 
other system but I haven't found anything I can use yet. Can someone plz 
point me in the right direction about where I can find documentation about 
this. This shouldn't be impossible, right?

(PS: our webshop system isn't one of the free ones like osCommerce)
