As you mention it... you are right it's more than just .httaccess. Are 
you shure www.dk-hostmaster.dk/typo3/ works like this? I've seen only 
the apache login. Possibly this is just a second authentification. Did 
you contact them? Anyway, I don't know more of any help for you. I'm sorry!
