[Typo3] Smart way to implement this problem

hi group

i'd like to have a list of thumbnail photos each one linking to the record's
detail view (larger photo, description text, some other fields, etc.) which
should be displayed on the same page as the thumbnail photos.

how is this done the smartest way?

* which plugin to use (i considered tt_address)?
* how to generate thumbnails including links to detail view (generate links
as javascript?)
* how to generate detail view (especially in tt_address - no docs for that
plugin?)?
