Ah, now this idea of the middle comes clearer.

Looking at TSref it looks like it cannot do an arbitrary 50:50 as the priority 
is the last and so a fixed markup is needed to define it.

Instead the fast way I think I would start to approach this is to count the 
number of sub pages ie your menu items using a globalVars ( I do not know at 
the moment what the correct one would be) and then setup conditions to wrap 
the items accordingly.

I hope someone else can chip in with their ideas.
