[Typo3] newloginbox in 3.8.0

Hi

Since I updated typo3 to v3.8.0 I am having problems with logging in to my site.

I don't know what's wrong, but it seems that the login "half-works".  Whatever username/password I use (whether correct or not), Typo3 will not recognise me as a logged in user and remove everything with the option "hide at login" and show the rest with option "show at any login".  Nor do extensions like CWT community will recognise me as being logged in.

I'm saying "half-works" because despite the above, the correct username/pass combo will make chc_forum show all options for logged in users, like reply box), and with my correct personal info in there.

Anyone knows what's going on?
