Cause EXT "Last update" checks not only for content updated in 
tt_content it's necessary to query syslog, filter the results and 
finally query for the appropriate author. IMHO this makes sense cause 
changes in records like news, addresses e.g would not be recognized as 
updated content. Definitely parse time increases, but in my tests an 
average of 50ms+ on a medium sized domain (172 pages, 15 authors) can't 
be called a 'Performance Killer'.
