[Typo3] switching of manipulation of images?

Hi,

is there any possibility to switch of image manipulation?  I want to 
make page with screenshots, but the results are rather ugly, both 
the preview and the separate window.

Therefore I want to do all convertion of the images by hand and let 
T3 only display them.
