[Typo3] Placing extension content elements in individual table cells

hy all,

i made some simple extensions (frontend plugins), which render some
content in a certain form. this works. now i want to place one of this
plugins in the left content column and an other one in the normal column
to generate an result like that:

this example works not for my plugins. what can i do to let my
plugins recognize the select.begin and select.max?
