Hi Tim

Today's show:

Managing your image collections

Picasa2 --- http://www.picasa.com - free

Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the
pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically
locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them
into visual albums organized by date with folder names you will
recognize. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels
to create new groups.

It also very simply allows you to correct things like red-eye, poor
colour contrast, tilt angles etc. One thing I liked is that Picasa2 will
resize images for sending as email attachments.

Disaney Porn

Misspell a word in the address bar and all sorts of things can go wrong.
It is a common practice for those on the shadey side of the web to
register domain names that take advantage of peoples spelling mistakes
of well known brand names. The result is that often you will get a porn
site which will start spawning new windows.

Don't click on any "alert panels" that may pop up - just close these
with the close button (top right)

Use a pop up blocker. the Firefox browser comes standard with a blocker,
for Internet explorer the google tool bar that is free from google will
provide an excellent blocker.

Parents should visit http://www.netalert.net.au/ - govt site free call
1800 880 176 - for advice on how to best proctect their children form
these sorts of sites.
