if it doesn' (pherhaps L is not available in GP - dunno about that) then 
you could use my betterstdwrap extension ... with it you can use
{glob:TSFE:fe_user:username} for example to access the username.

with the newly introduced {glob:} you cann access every object and array
from $GLOBALS and its sub-elements (object-variable, array elements) in 
any depth (not like normal stdwrap just in the first level)
