[Typo3] Multiple Installs / Valid Markup

Hi,

I'm new to Typo3 and have a few general questions;

* The Pros and Cons of setting up Typo3 so that there is just one install on
the server, but multiple instances for deploying content to different
domains.  I can't find out where to do this in the docs or in the admin
interface.  Does anyone have any pros and cons they can share?

* Valid XHTML.  Are the templates fully abstracted from the CMS API so as to
be able to produce valid markup?
