[Typo3] high-server-load average (>70) & no more mysql & typo3

Hi List,

does anybody know something about very high server-loads.

after restarting apache & mysqld the server-loads increases realy quickly.
Well normaly it works well, but right now, this customer makes an 
international exhibition (spielwarenmesse.de) and of cause, there are 
quiet a lot of  frontenduser now.

what i have to check? i looked at the log-files, seems ok as far as i 
can see. how can i manage a good load-balancing?
