[Typo3] RTE: Pasting Word or RTF Documents

A client is having problems pasting MS Word or RTF documents into the RTE.

I've been through all past posts, and the video on this issue, and have
tried many TSConfig changes. (Many of the previous posts are unanswered, or
a solution is alluded to but not clearly given.)

I can get rid of the MS classes, but all of the existing formatting is being
removed -- even if I tell it to keep the <font> and other tags.

How did YOU configure the RTE to allow clients to cut-n-paste Word or RTF
documents?

(ps. A lot of the client's text is in German, which often comes-up garbled
after going through the RTE -- I'd like to especially hear how German users
are handling this.)
