[Typo3] $_POST['MyVar'] doesn't work!!

hi all,
i want to use $_POST['MyVar'] in a file of an extension.
The syntax is right But i can't get the content of the $_POST['MyVar'].
does typo3 have an other why to get the content of $POST['MyVar']?
