[Typo3] tt_news and gst_topcontent problems

Once again I am lost :)

1. tt_news. All dates are displayed in the form ".08.05" - that is, no
date, only month and year. I've tried to manipulate this through
displayList.date_stdWrap, but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

2. gst_topcontent. Is it at all possible to make wrap every other item
in topcontent with a different wrap? I want to display even items with
a different color, however I can't figure out how to do it. :(
