[Typo3] Upload problems

I recently moved my Typo3 installation to a new server. Afterwards I 
started experiencing problems with file uploads. For example, when 
trying to upload an extension in the extension manager, I get the error: 
"No file uploaded! Probably the file was too large for PHPs internal 
limit for uploadable files."

However. The limit (in php.ini) is set to 20 megs and I have other PHP 
applications on the web server where file upload works just fine.

I can't upload files to the fileadmin either. Here I don't even recieve 
an error message. I browse for the file, press "Upload file" and then 
simply get a blank page. The file isn't uploaded, but no error message 
is given.

As far as I can tell all relevant directories have the appropriate write 
access. This feels like such a silly problem, but I really, really 
appriciate some help!
