[Typo3] Direct mail not sending for non-admin

Hello everyone,

 

I have been wrestling with this for a couple of hours now and can't find
a solution. I am trying to set up a newsletter using the direct mail
extension. Everything works fine when I'm logged in as an admin user,
but when I try to send a newsletter as a normal BE user it doesn't send
anything. There is no indication anything went wrong, but the news
letters don't get send. The mailer status (start and stop) emails do get
send. As far as I can see I've set all the rights correctly. Is this a
known bug? Or am I overlooking something?
