[Typo3] Hide active menu entry

I like to create a language menu that shows the flags for each available language but not the flag of the currently chosen language.
The idea is now to create a GMENU and simply declare the ACT state as invisible or "not there". But I can't figure out how to do it. For the moment I have set the width and height of the ACT image to 0 which kind of works but is a bit messy in my eyes.
Does anyone know how to do this?
