[Typo3] image border

Hi List,

Is it posible to change the image border from the standard black line 
into a graphical one made out of small images on each side and the corners.
I've tried the frame function but this has not the desired effect, 
because this is monocrome and filters away a part of the image near the 
border. I want the image to stay the same size and the border to be 
outside the image.

I found some posts about changing the color and thickness, but nothing 
about replacing it with a graphical border.
