[Typo3] Moving typo3 from subdirectory to root

Hello guys,

Can someone explain to me a quick and easy way to move my whole typo3 
installation from a subdirectory (for example: www.mydomain.com/typo/) 
to the root directory (for example: www.mydomain.com/).

The reason I need to know this is because I am redesigning the site to 
use typo3, so I want to work on the site in one subdirectory for now, 
and when it is all ready and fixed, I will move it to the root directory 
for my visitors to see.

Until then I want to keep my site in one subdirectory which will be 
password protected so no one can see.

This is pretty urgent,
