[Typo3] install directory

Hi
Apologies for the using a nic I'm so used to doing this in forums, this
mailing list is far more civilized :o)

The whole story of this directory issue stems from my web host using a
script to install the TYPO3 into my site directory. This of course was
supposed to make things easier. This didn't matter while I was doing the
tutorial.

I don't think the ppl at the hosting company realize what is required.
Although they are quick to reply etc. I think we have been confusing
each other with what is needed. Earlier on today I took Mathews advice
and I asked them if they wanted to enable SSH on my account or move the
installation themselves.

Well they tried moving it themselves but I ended up with a TYPO3 folder
with a file with a question mark on it about 9kb in size.

Using their control panel I thought I could reinstall TYPO3 and it would
uninstall the previous copy first. My own install did go into the root
directory. But because they had installed the last one for me in a
subdirectory I ended up with two copies and a lot less space!

As it stands as of now I've asked them to clear the account so I can
do a reinstall into the root directory.

Thanks to everyone who has replied.

Dave
