Well, let me rephrase my question.

Since the configuration email.fromName is ignored, it must be because some other configuration overrules it, right? Where could that be? That is my question. Is it sendmail related (e.g the underlying unix-platform does not allow to define email.fromName)? php related (defined in php.ini)? defined in another extension? that I don't know, hence I don't know where to look for it, and hence I decided to ask the question on the mailinglist.

Reagards,
René
