[Typo3] Menu missing - new installation of typo3 testsite

Hi,

sorry I'm brandnew to TYPO3.

I just installed the testsite on a SUSE Linux 9, not a real big deal. Backend runs fine but there are two things missing:

1. if I go to the frontend I get the Intro, but the is no menu, so I can not go to other pages in the tree, tried IE6 and Firefox with different settings

2. the installation wizzard always tells mit image magick ist not installed, but requested files are under /usr/bin.... and it is the recommended version

Any hints
