[Typo3] extension: database connection field

Hi all,


I wrote an extension that uses a field database connection (to another 
table inside the same extension). Is it possible to restrict which 
records of this conected table do appear in BE - via PageTSconfig 
perhaps? In my case it should be decided looking at the pid.

Example:
I have a table "articles". Therein lies the field "category", that is 
the database connection. Normally when editing an article all categories 
are listed in this field and I choose the one I like. I would prefer to 
list only the categories that lie on the same page in page tree as my 
article. (so have the same pid)

Is this possible?
