[Typo3] CHC forum styles buttons not working, and the ratings system

  I am currently having an issue with CHC Forum (latest version
1.2.3). All of the style buttons (quotes, url, bold, etc.) are
disabled. We have had these working before, but have now stopped
working. Nothing has changed, that I am aware of.
  Also, the rating system is a great utility, but when you preview a
message, a mysql fetch error occurs. When the ratings are turned off,
the previews work fine.
any thoughts on these two errors?
