When CGL was written (by me, actually ;)), function parameters were meant. 
But since it is not there, ok :)

But "validation" is still in CGL. How about that and example #1? When 
"!$this->bar" is not a validation (i.e. "$this->bar is invalid if it 
evaluates to false" is *not* the case but "$this->bar determines the 
behavior of execution" *is* the case), than example #1 violates CGL, right?
