Nothing of that. I did like this:
- went to the first issue and copied its cherry-pick shell code
- created a new local branch
- cherry-picked the first change
- edited/committed/pusged to its topic branch
- switched to local master
- deleted the first branch
- went to the second issue and saw that red text

I always create a new local branch for each issue and always delete it 
after committing.
