[TYPO3-dev] TYPO3-About

Hi Robert, hi all!

Thanks Robert for bringing up the typo3-about suggestion. If you
remember, we already talked about this a while ago and I agree that it's
a good thing.

As Olivier mentioned, we already have a t3a-about mailing list for the
association, which has been used quite well and in the same way as I
like this list to be:

- non-technical
- low-traffic

There was already a discussion on typo3-english a while ago, where the
outcome was that this list should be replaced with one which is not
directly related with the TYPO3 association.

The result is, that I have just created the new "typo3-about" list:
http://lists.typo3.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/typo3-about. *

Consequently, I think the "t3a-about" list is no longer needed, and I
will ask people to subscribe here instead.

For now, I have not set up any rules and guidelines on how to use the
list. Please always keep the above goals in mind when using it. Try to
avoid flame-wars, be friendly and constructive!

In my opinion, the list should be one which everyone in the TYPO3
community follows. Most likely, this will only work as long as the list
is low-traffic, but we'll have to find out...

Greetings, and have a nice weekend!
- michael

* The new newsgroup "typo3.about" is synced with the mailing list in
both directions. Additionally, we will soon come up with a new forum
website which will offer a web based access to this and other mailing lists.

PS: For now, I will only announce this here and on Twitter. A public
announcement will follow once that the web based forum is ready to be
used...
