do you mean 'cl_beuser_password'?
that extension was last updated on 2005-09-21
since then (TYPO3 V3.8?) a lot of TYPO3 versions have been created and a 
lot of changes were at least within the last three versions.

Do you really expect an extension this old to run 'stable'?

keep watch as you can't rely on version dependency in extensions.
neither a to narrow restriction, nor a missing restriction.

academicly each extension needs to be tested with each existing/new 
version to enhance version-dependency just a small step from the version 
it was created with. 
do you believe this is done with each extension and every new version of 
TYPO3? ;-)
