as the field is a unixtime-field calculating with seconds you can use it 
(edit it in BE) by changing the TCA-definition of the field.

caveat: your caching will not reflect this exact publishing by default.
by default FE-caching is done for 24h (from first call of one element) 
but you can clear at date-change.
having publication-times in a minute grid. you need to set caching for 
maximum 1 minute which will make nearly no effekt.
