[TYPO3-dev] standard mailform does not support GET anymore?

Yes, with the Typoscript object you can configure the method. You were 
talking about the mailform. If you build this with the TS object, you 
have to specify 'formtype_mail' as the name of the submit button to have 
it processed by the formmail handler of TYPO3. In that case (the manual 
doesn't specifically state this) the method has to be POST.
