You should really think seriously before doing that. Taking over the 
maintenance of an extension is a real commitment. And if the code base 
is very old, you may find yourself with desperately obsolete code on 
your hands.

This bug is very old, nobody else complained about it and the reporter 
doesn't even "exist" anymore (i.e. the account is not active anymore on 
Mantis, as can see from the striked-through username).

But I agree that it's a good idea to close old bugs and it's nice that 
you went on such a crusade and push us into action. My proposal: I can 
set that bug's status to feedback. If no feedback comes within some 
predefined time (I think someone proposed 3 months in a separate 
thread), then we just close the bug.

Now if you really want to become the new owner of the extension, I guess 
there's absolutely no problem. Basically all extensions that belong to 
Kasper are up for grabs by any enthusiastic maintainer. You can request 
that the extension key be transferred to you, although I keep losing 
where the exact steps for that are defined :-(
