Thanks for the responses.

When I got home last night I realised TYPO3 4.4 had been released, first 
thing I did was read the release notes and it is clearly explained there 
:-)  and kind of embarrassingly I must have missed it in the Upgrade 
Wizard, it just said to delete the temp_ files to avoid the "naked" BE 
in the RC2 article...

I still beleive that this could be handled a little more elegantly 
however, for example in the upgrade wizard you have options to 
install/uninstall certain system extensions such as simulatestatic, help 
modules, versioning - to be honest I don't even look at that part as I 
know I can easily do those things in the EM later (is it really to do 
with upgrading?), I tend to just change the compatibility version and 
apply the updates which that requires, perhaps something like not having 
the t3skin installed which breaks your BE if you do not deal with it 
should be highlighted more clearly, like with a red flash message.

I think for me the upgrade tool could do with some work, what I have 
come to expect from and upgrade tool is to say you are on version X 
we're going to take you to version X and for it all to be one process 
rather than the step approach we have now which is not so seamless.

I hope you understand what I mean and do not take my critisms harshly, 
these are small issues with an otherwise excellent release :-)
