Dough - i forgot something that the TER really lacks:

Categories! - I really see the Joomla! extensions directory as ideal: 
http://extensions.joomla.org/

Perhaps it could be possible to offer a way to sort a ext into categorys 
for authors.

To speed categorization up registered users could be asked to sort 
categorys too. This should happen as suggestion first and after a 
extension has been categorized the same way for certain times this 
categorization could be finally saved for the extension.
