Since the last GA.
Ask someone from the T3A to make two piles of money spent:
One pile for v5, another pile for v4.
Compare.
So let's play a little with numbers (SK said most core devs own a
company, so numbrs shouldn't be a myth to them).
Job name:
Release manager
Salary:
2000 Euros per month (pre-taxes)
Job Description:
- Keeps the volunteers happy
- Keeps deadlines
- decides what's in the release
If we plan a one-year RC this will be 24.000 Euros (around 1/4 of the
last T3A budget I know of).
Sounds reasonable to me.
In terms of v5 development I don't know if there is any contract or
something similar.
Would be good to know :)
But still:
Big problem in TYPO3:
Pay one, pay all - can't pay all? Get nothing done, since a lot of
people back out (this is my lesson learned from the TYPO3.org relaunch
project).
