[TYPO3-dev] Money money... and a donation project

This issue has been raised before. But as important as it is, I think
it's worth doing it again.

How can we channelize more money to projects which may be of high value
to the TYPO3 project?

Get the message out:
I have seen some cool TYPO3 projects never making it, because of lack of
money. Right now Mario from Calendar Base is trying to collect money for
a cool google-calendar like cal frontend. Maybe only 20% of community
currently has a need (mayber more) - but it's not easy for Mario to
reach out with his message to that 20% about his project.

Collecting the money:
The next barrier is to actual collect the money. Let's say the project
need 3000€. I wouldn't want to make a donation of 100€ unless I was sure
that money actually would be used for this project. What if the goal
amount isn't met? Okay - so people can pledge? This would never work
with small donation amounts for such a project.

So this project might never be realized.

So what I think we need is:
* a newsletter about projects. In this newsletter there could be
advertizings for projects needing funds. There will be status updates on
projects in progress. And reviews on completed projects.
This newsletter should be sent to all T3A members, and every TYPO3
interested company/person. (I have been told some months ago that this
is on the way - what are we waiting for?)

* a better mecanism for handling incoming money. Again I would like to
point at fundable.com. The smart thing is that you don't pay anything
unless the goal amount is met. The down side of this service is that it
takes 10% of the totals, but again - isn't it worth it that projects are
realized? Anyway - if the 10% 'tax' is too hard to cope with - what is
stopping us from creating our own fundable.com like service? Would it
really be that hard? I think such a project would be a great project for
the T3A!
