When searching in BT I came across:

Dated 17.05.04 !?!?

Oh there are plenty of others:
124, 133, 154, 149, 197, 199, 232, 257, 276, 308, 343, 346, ... all have 
  status "new" and date back to 2004...

It's not a nice task, but maybe an idea for a bug day to check (and 
hopefully close) some of these old entries?
