Fully agreed on that! I think it would be really bad to raise the 
requirement to 5.3, as this would make Extbase less attractive to many 
people _right now_. Additionally, currently TYPO3 4.3 doesn't run nicely 
on 5.3 (Depreciation warnings) - so that's not really an option to let 
Extbase have a min requirement of 5.3 ;-)
