hi devs
sorry for the maybe OT, but i write here since this is a really big opportunity for all typo3 developers and agencies,
with the aim is to accelerate good ext dev for TYPO3.
One of the biggest pacifist / nonviolent project ever thought has been put in march:
it'll be a Worldwide March for Peace and Nonviolence that will start in New Zeland 2 october 2009
and will end on the Andes (Argentina) 2 january 2010, passing through hundreds of cities all over the world.
Since i'm active in these things for years, i could propose and could get that
the official website/portal for the March will be built on.. TYPO3!
There is already something "live": www.theworldmarch.org and www.marciamondiale.org
(they live in the same installation, with Mexico, India, Czech republic, Hungary, Cameron and other dozens "national" subsites to come next months)
I could set up a first group of (pro and semipro) volunteers to develop the prototype...
but since a few days ago these proposals were accepted as the "official" web projects, now it's time to get bigger.
Since these websites will have _lots_ of features/traffic/visibility, all over the world, in 30 languages, i think TYPO3 will be seriously put
under pressure and will need the best development.
Many big personalities have already joined the March (from Nobel Prizes to international pop-stars).
My/our PROPOSAL to TYPO3 developers/agencies is: to help the March helping developing theworldmarch.org
It could just be that who is in charge or expert in important extensions that are fundamental for the project
(like cal, tt_news, DAM, realurl, l10mngr, googlemaps, SEO) or hot topic (hi traffic, caching, security, multilanguage/translations, db optimization, Mantis, single sign on) would give an hand... both
consulting, or improving features, or offering resources.
Proper and big credits will give contributors the right publicity worldwide.
If it wasn't clear: there is no "big" player under the hood, it's all real volunteers activity.
I think that TYPO3, with its inner deep philosophy that brought it (and us) here, really deserve this opportunity:
to be know and recognized worldwide as an instrument to spread and share Peace and Nonviolence.
please anybody interested contact me asap!
ciao
